Solution 02

Summary

Replacing crane and forklift transport of long and
heavy items with coordinated multi-AMR operation

Automate processes once tied to crane availability and dedicated operators. Multi-unit coordination
enables flexible transport that adapts to changes in payload and process layout — maximizing ROI.

  • Merit 01

Eliminate crane bottlenecks and reduce inter-process lead times.

  • Merit 02

Lowering equipment dependence to cut investment and upkeep expenses.

  • Merit 03

Flexible factory layouts and unrestricted production processes.

Use Case

  • Materials
    Manufacturing

    Inter-process transport of long materials

Connected over 10 processes from molding to inspection via collaborative transport. Replaced overhead cranes to eliminate congestion and enable parallel workflows.

  • Chemicals
    Manufacturing

    Transporting film rolls

Multi-unit transport of large film rolls. Traverses floors with rail grooves and enables 360° rotation for flexible, precise roll positioning.

Function and
Feature

  • 01 Free-form transport powered by advanced coordination and 360° movement

Rotates on the spot and travels along both the long and short axes of the payload. Delivers flexible transport of heavy and long-format items.

  • 02 Switch seamlessly between coordinated and single-unit transport for versatile use

Smoothly transitions between coordinated transport and single-unit operation. A single unit can handle multiple roles — optimizing capital investment through flexible operation.

Core Technology

  • 01

Industry's first industrial-grade omnidirectional movement mechanism using ball drive

We have achieved precise omnidirectional movement — impossible with conventional wheels or Mecanum wheels — using a ball-drive mechanism. Forward/backward, lateral, and rotational motion can be controlled independently and simultaneously, enabling instantaneous movement in any direction.

  • 02

    Visual SLAM

TriOrb's proprietary Visual SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology recognizes the surrounding environment in real time from visual information captured by onboard cameras. It simultaneously delivers millimeter-precision self-localization and constructs detailed environmental maps.

FAQ

  • Q How long is the operating time?

A With the battery provided as an option, continuous operation is 3.5 hours. Battery capacity can also be adjusted according to your usage conditions. Please contact us for details.
  • Q Can it be used outdoors?

A Basically, it is designed for indoor operation, but outdoor use is also possible depending on the conditions. Please contact us for details.
  • Q Can it travel on uneven floors or floors with steps?

A Standard specifications allow travel over grooves up to 45mm, steps up to 10mm, and gradients up to approximately 9°. The standard ball diameter is φ100, but we also have production experience with φ140 and φ200. If you require other ball diameters, please feel free to contact us.
